In no order, because I don't think I've ever had a 1# game, because all the ones I love are all special in their own ways:

Grand Theft Auto IV -

I was really pumped for this when it came out, I had a few friends who had ordered the special edition set, and I looked thru the art book and was even more hooked, man, I love the concept art and paintings for this game.

Anyways, I didn't own either a 360 or a PS3 at the time (just a Wii) so every week, during one of my class breaks, I'd go up with my friend to his flat and I'd watch him play GTA4. I was AMAZED at the little things you could do, like taking out your cell phone and ringing 911 for the cops to show up, or hailing a taxi and being able to look around in the back seat, I was pretty awe-struck at the realism of it, I'd loved and played all the other 3D GTA's before hand, and was kind of expecting the same 'arcade' feel from them, but no, this was different, and unlike most things that are 'different', this was GOOD!

Enough rambling, anyways, I loved Niko's story and his character, the new (and improved) Liberty City, seriously, it feels like its breathing, and even though i hated the non-arcade-ish driving at the beggining, I now just love cop chases with a car that handles well.

This really does deserve the praise it got (even though a lot of people don't think it does, they must have given up on the very first missions, pitty)

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time -

I was 5 years late to this game, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this was still amazing.

I can vaguely remember classmates in primary school going on about how good it was, when it was new, but I didn't have much interest in Zelda games (I'd breifly played ALTTP on my first SNES console when i was 6 or so, and the very first hour of Majora's Mask, when i borrowed it from Blockbusters, I seriously had no idea what was going on in that game and gave up to play Conkers BFD :P I was so lost with the finding the bombers gang and getting the moon's tear etc)

But anyways, I was rummaging thru a used games table in EB back in grade 7 and saw Ocarina of Time + Master Quest for GameCube for $50, so i bought it, because I remember one of my good friends saying his all-time favorite game was this 'Ocarina of Time' thing, so I was just like "What the hell, this should be good because Cam said so"

Well, once I got Link into an adult, I was HOOKED on the game. I can't really fault OOT, maybe though its a bit easy?

Well, I struggled with the Shadow Temples boss, Bongo Bongo, back then, and then went and sold my Gamecube and all my games for a PS2 (kind of regret doing do, but the PS2 has plenty of great games too)

Super Metroid-

Another game I was late to (14 years, to be precise)

The same friend who mentioned OOT, mentioned Super Metroid, shortly after i finished Metroid Prime (great game btw, even if i did get lost countless times, and back-tracked countless times too)

man, this game is so amazing, this has some of the best music in video games, and the game wouldn't be half of what it is if it didn't have the moody music to it. I'd played 1/4 of the game thru computer emulation, but went and

bought it on ebay, and I'm glad i did. Fantastic.

SMW2 Yoshi's Island -

this was my favorite game back when I only had a SNES though most of primary school.

The art style was really clever (crayon drawings, too good) and the level design was impressive.

I must have finished this game 3 times, and i still love the final boss. I hope they release this on the Wii's Virtual Console soon.

Uncharted 2: Among Theves -

I pretty much bought a PS3 Slim for this game (and the 1st Uncharted)

My cousing was raving about how U2 was this epic Indiana Jones-like game, and was telling me about the train level when you go through thick jungle, then a tunnel and then appear atop these huge snow-capped mountains, so i was like 'i should try these games out, and this was just after the PS3 Slim came out, so it was a good time to get one (expense-wise)

I have yet to see a game better-looking than this, plus the story, controlls and characters are all top-notch.

If you haven't already, BUY A PS3 JUST FOR THIS GAME, you wont regret it!

Wind Waker -

Sailing from place to place wasn't dull like most people say, and the art-style is awesome. This game will still look slick in 10 years time!

Yakuza 3/Ryu ga Gotoku 3-

An authentic Tokyo and awesome brutal street brawls with a great, if confusing, story. I just ordered japanese-only Kenzan and 4 from ebay yesterday, I can't get enough of this series.

Resident Evil 4 -

I bought this, even though I wasn't a big fan or the RE games, but I couldn't put this game down until i finished it.

Even though there wasn't any zombies, this game was scary! I was sweating the first time the chainsaw welding guy came thru the door in that house you get locked up in at the beggining of the game, and of course, like everyone, i=I shat bricks when i first saw a Regenorator.

Shenmue -

This game was, and still is, ambitious. The pacing is slow, and the voice acting in pretty terrible, but this game is fantastic.

I bought a Dreamcast early last year JUST to play this, because I'd read on countless forums and youtube videos that this game was amazing. Everyone who said that is right.

Heavy Rain -

Like playing an awesome thriller movie.

The story is gripping, and i didn't see the end coming (even though there are 24 endings! jesus!)

I've landed on the 'blog' band-wagon.
